How long does an artificial turf installation usually take?

When it comes to installing synthetic grass for your specific project, a number of factors can contribute to how long it will take to install your artificial turf.

Time of the Project

First, the time of your artificial turf installation can vary from 1 to 3 days depending on:

• Square footage of the project

• Removal of Materials

• Special Work

If your project is 300-1200 square feet, it can be installed in just one day. However, if your project is the size of a football field, then it could take up to a week to install. The good news is that you don’t need to be onsite while we install your synthetic grass. Our professional Licensed and Insured installation partners will take care of the project while your at work or while your simply out with the family.

Some projects require curved edges to match your backyard landscape. This requires a little more time as opposed to installing square-edged synthetic grass. Occasionally, we have to install additional materials like straight-board, bender-board or custom brickwork in order to create a specific curve. We will cover these options during the quoting process, so it helps if you have a general idea of what you’d like the finish product to look like before our first visit.

Putting Green

Putting Greens are a little more complicated than your standard artificial turf installation. A putting green requires installing a curved fringe and installing putting cups which takes extra time and preparation. The putting cups are set in cement for maximum reliability & longevity. Rest assured knowing you that will be receiving a PGA quality putting green at every hole.

Accessibility to the Project

Lastly, if access to your artificial turf installation area is fairly straightforward, then there shouldn’t be any extra time added to your project. However, if we are installing artificial turf on a rooftop balcony or inside an area that has limited access, your synthetic grass installation could easily take an extra day. There are a lot of tools and materials that are required to properly install artificial turf, so accessibility is key when planning an installation.

Is synthetic grass safe?

Many people are worried about the different materials used when installing synthetic turf. Our turf and installation materials are lead-free and made with safety in mind. From playgrounds to pets areas, we use the finest enviro-safe materials and we have the 3rd party tests to prove it. If you have any questions or concerns about this matter, please feel free to ask.

Does it fade?

All of our synthetic turf products are 100% UV resistant, which prevents the rapid discoloration of your turf. We use the industry’s top rated C-8 yarn on all of our turf products, giving us an unfair advantage over the competition to problems such as turf-burn and discoloration. Most other companies are still using C-6 yarn, mostly to cut costs. However, ATD designs its turf to stand against the test of time and to preserve your investment for decades to come.

Does the turf get hot?

The turf will get hot, especially on warm summer days. Luckily, we offer Envirofill™, an antimicrobial Microban coated turf solution that works by absorbing the heat and by keeping the turf fresh. All you have to do is spray the turf down with a hose and it will stay cool for up to 5 days.

Is synthetic turf maintenance free?

Synthetic turf requires very little maintenance compared to natural grass. Every turf product will have different care instructions depending on the material and type.

How do I remove leaves and debris from my turf lawn?

A leaf blower, rake, or garden hose will easily take care of any debris that you want removed from your artificial turf. Feel free to hose the turf down anytime you’d like, for a fresh, cool & clean feel!

How long does the turf last?

ATD’s synthetic turf has a lifespan of up to 16 years. However, this all depends on how you care for the turf. With the proper care & maintenance, your turf can last for up to 20 years.
